Colgate Hikes Dividend

The Board of Directors of Colgate-Palmolive Co. (NYSE: CL – $69.68) said it increased the quarterly common stock dividend by 5%, effective in the second quarter, 2018. The new rate of $.42 per share is up from $.40 per share. The increased payout is to be paid on May 15, 2018 to shareholders of record as of April 20. On an annualized basis, the new dividend rate is $1.68 versus $1.60 per share and will yield investors 2.4% at current levels. The oral care and household products company has paid uninterrupted dividends on its common stock since 1895. Shares of high-quality Colgate can continue to be held in a well-diversified conservative portfolio.
