UPS Raises Dividend

The Board of Directors of United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE: UPS – $110.87) announced a 5.5% increase to its regularly quarterly dividend to $0.96 per share. The dividend is payable March 12, 2019 to shareholders of record on February 26, 2019. The new annualized rate effective with this increase will be $3.84 per share and yield 3.4% at current levels. UPS, the world’s largest package delivery provider, has a long commitment to cash dividends. For nearly 50 years, the company has either increased or maintained its dividend and since 2000, the payout has more than quadrupled. Future dividends should continue to grow commensurate with steady cash flows at around a 7.5% annualized rate over the next few years. Shares of Atlanta-based UPS can continue to be considered for conservative accounts.
